| How to Apply GNM Entrance Examination 2026 | |
| 1. Applicant must be a citizen of India. 2. Permanent Resident Certificate is mandatory for admission in the Govt. Institutes of Assam. 3. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years as on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. 4. The minimum educational eligibility criteria for admission to GNM course: a. 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However, Science is preferable. Three (core elective) subject marks may be taken for calculating the percentage of marks excluding the marks in English. Also, it has to be ensured the candidate has pass marks in English. b. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursung Council. c. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE boardiState/Centre. d. Registered ANM with pass marks. e. 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for SC/ST candidates as per INC norms. 5. Student shall be medically fit. 6. Student shall be admitted once in a year. The reservation of seats for GNM course in Govt. Institutes shall be as per Assam Govt. norms. However, the distribution and reservation of seats including admission shall be notified by Directorate of Health Services, Assam in due course of time. |

Mode of Selection
| The Entrance Examination shall be held on 28.06.2026 (Sunday) from 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM at Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Jorhat, Barpeta, Tezpur, Diphu, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, Dhubri & Kokrajhar. There will be 1 (one) paper consisting of (a).English (b) Mathematics (c) General Science. The questions of these subjects shall be of Class 10th standard. The total marks of the Examination shall be 100 marks. (100 Questions x 1 Mark each). English – 50 marks, Mathematics – 25 marks and General Science – 25 marks. There shall be no negative marking for wrong answers. Unanswered questions shall be awarded zero marks, The questions will be in both English & Assamese language. However, the candidates will be required to fill in the OMR Sheet of the Entrance Examination in English only. |
| Notification: The merit list shall be prepared based on the total marks obtained by each candidate in the Entrance Examination. If two or more candidates secure the same mark in the Entrance Examination, the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as follows: a. Candidates securing more marks in English in the Entrance Examination. b. Candidates securing more marks in General Science in the Entrance Examination. c. Candidates securing more marks in Mathematics in the Entrance Examination. d. if the marks further tally, then marks in English, then General Science, then Mathematics of HSLC (10th standard) Examination shall be considered. The minimum qualifying criteria/ cut off score (minimum percentile) in the Entrance Examination for admission into GNM Course for the session 2026 shall be notified in due course. Any information given by the applicant if found to be false, incomplete or any ineligibility criteria detected at any stage later on shall mark her disqualified from the Entrance Examination with all its associated consequences. As the form is to be submitted online, the candidates are not required to send any document to the University. All necessary verification/scrutiny of the related documents of the candidates regarding eligibility, reservation etc. will be done at the time of counselling. The candidates are to keep note of their Application Form Number and Password. |
